Artemis Greek Goddess – or Mother God?

Who was Artemis? Her Latin name, Diana, is simply a form of the universal Indo-European name for God (Dea, Devi, Dios, Dieu, Divine Thea Theology etc.) in its original feminine form.

As a demoted patriarchal “goddess” Artemis/Diana rules the moon, hunting, childbirth etc., but originally she was the absolute Divinity, as much solar as lunar, as the name Diana implies – the Dea words also meaning Day, implying the Solar light of absolute Deity.

So when the Amazons were said to “worship Artemis”, were they worshiping a “classical” demigod, or the one Great Mother of all?
